During the recent Covid lockdown, Mr Robert Deacon – Lawrence Hargrave SSP PE teacher – came up with an original concept to keep staff and students connected.

He asked teachers and students to run with the Olympic Torch (a mobile phone if possible) and be filmed passing it on. He then compiled the footage, which was filmed throughout Sydney and acknowledged all the Aboriginal lands that were filmed. Classes represented countries at the Olympics and students could earn medals for their country by the amount they were engaged in online lessons or work packages. This film has been an inspiration to our community in challenging times.
